Preparation of KGTW's Technical Documents

All TRCs will be invited to provide their national input in standardised format documents. Support will be provided by GTI as requested for this purpose. In ad-vance of the Workshop TRC challenges and priority actions proposed will be in-tegrated as appropriate into WG discussions.
A number of lead authors—known experts—have been identified to develop a series of background technical papers to assist KGTW objectives. The lead au-thors will assemble a small team of co-authors, working with one or more experts from the Tiger Range States. Background technical papers will be brief and con-cise (5–10 pages) and should deliver the following points:

  • An overview of successful cases and key lessons learnt from past efforts for tiger or other comparable species conservation worldwide;
  • A succinct justification/explanation of why the suggested approaches will succeed where previous attempts have seemingly failed;
  • A prioritized set of strategic outcomes, which should be secured in order to achieve the ultimate goal of “reversing the current decline of tiger in the wild with a view to doubling populations over the next 2 decades”.
  • A list of priority actions, which need to be taken to ensure achievement of the strategic outcomes and the ultimate goal;
  • A list of key references used in the preparation of paper.

Proposed list of background technical papers are:
