Nepal is endowed with scenic splendors and natural beauty. The protected areas of the country are major tourists destinations. The number of visitors in national parks and wildlife reserves of both the lowland Terai and mountains are increasing with each passing year. While the parks in lowland Terai are famous for endangered Royal Bengal tiger, Greater one-horned rhinoceros, and the Asian elephant, the mountain parks attract tourists for trekking, mountaineering and rich cultural diversity of various ethnic groups.
